**Stop press**

We had a glorious sunny day for the official launch and were glad to see so many agencies and young people - press release and photos to follow... many of the young people helped with the design and layout of the Van as well as the publicity, ideas and logo

the van has already been out with the team - engaging with young people...

so V4C is beginning to roll...

Its taken a long time [almost 18 months] getting to the starting grid but the outreach youth work vision of young people that is "V4C" is NOW ready to start detached youth work in a town or village near you in West Kent

Progress - so far

the specially adapted and commissioned mobile resource unit has been designed, modified, and delivered complete with new V4C logo designed by young people...

about 7 young people have already stepped forward to join the steering group that will help to guiide this project as it develops... there is plenty of time to join this group if you would like - just contact the team..

we have recruited the core staff team:-

- V4C Project Leader - Dan Tyler works on the project full time

- V4C Youth Workers - Beverley & Brad - both work part time

- our team are keen to hear from young people and agencies about local needs, contacts, potential venues/partner agencies - CAN YOU HELP US - POST THIS ON TWITTER / FACEBOOK AND TO ANYONE YOU THINK MAY BE INTERESTED


the V4C team have a lot of work to do preparing resources, equipment, procedures and the vehicle as well as getting to know many other agencies in the area so that our work is properly `joined up`; PLUS some V4C team training...


Can you help the V4C team?

- invite them to any training or development days that may be of help to them..

- email or post them any resources that the V4C team should be aware of:

-- any training opportunites - formal or informal for staff or for young people

-- youth work details of clubs and activities in your area

-- sporting activities

-- clubs that offer a warm welcome to young people

-- drop ins for young people wanting help, advice


V4C Advice / Support / Training / Resouces could include:
dealing with homelessness/sofa surfing
sexual health / relationships
substance abuse - alcohol, drugs, smoking, solvents etc
training - vocational or basic skills,
jobs - job search, interviews, CV writing,
careers advice
advice on college courses
mental health/emotional wellbeing,
parenting,
mediation,
counselling,
healthy eating,
anger management

OR you may have skills, materials or time to offer to ensure there is always something great going on that Young People want to do... this could be
