Volunteering could be a really rewarding experience for you - or someone you know - a great opportunity to share your
time, skills, life experiences and willingness to listen - to benefit young people in need.
Even a few hours a week or month can make such a difference. There
is no age limit to becoming a volunteer, making this an excellent
opportunity for all ages from teenagers to retired people to get
involved and achieve new things.
As a volunteer with West Kent YMCA, you receive
similar support as paid staff. You will be a key part of the team, with an important & recognised role. You will receive full induction, job description, supervision, access to training, and regular reviews. We refund travel
& work related costs - even including lunch if you volunteer for us all day.
NO
promises - but quite often people who start as volunteers go on to
get paid jobs with us or other employers. Voluntary work
certainly looks impressive on anyone's CV - and we encourage our
paid staff to undertake volunteer roles outside work - including
youth work, children's work, sports clubs, trustees &
fund-raising.
For ALL staff, volunteers and trustees -
written references are always required and you will need to undergo a CRB enhanced disclosure
- as part of our extensive Child Protection Policy.
