Writing or updating your Will can be a positive and reflective experience; and helps your family to know your wishes in the future. After you’ve taken care of loved ones, we'd be honoured if you would consider leaving a lasting gift [or 'legacy'] to YMCA West Kent
No matter how large or small, a gift in a Will can help transform lives - even a small percentage of what’s left after your loved ones are provided for can make a huge difference to our work. Your generosity could help us:
How do I leave a gift in my Will?
There are different ways to leave a gift in your Will and we recommend you consult a solicitor, who can guide you on the most suitable way for you. The three main ways to leave a gift in your Will are:
- A Residuary Gift of either all, or a share of, what is left in your estate after all other gifts to family and friends (plus any taxes and expenses) have been paid.
- A Pecuniary Gift of a stated amount of money which is left to a named person, charity or other organisation.
- A Specific Gift of a specific item. The item must be described precisely and the name and address of the person or organisation to whom the gift has been left must be provided.
If you would be interested in leaving us a gift in your Will, we recommend speaking to a solicitor, who will help draft your Will (or update an existing one).
